We are currently recruiting for an experienced Head Chef to support a high-volume gastropub in the Chigwell area on a temporary basis while the venue recruits for a permanent appointment.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, leading a team to deliver a consistently high standard of food service. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable and motivated Head Chef (or strong Sous Chef) who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.

Maintain food quality, presentation, and consistency.

Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.

Ensure full compliance with food hygiene and safety standards.

Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a similar fresh-food operation.

Strong leadership and organisational skills.

Immediate availability for temporary cover.

Ability to commute to the Chigwell area (no live-in accommodation available).
