We are currently recruiting for an experienced Relief Single-Handed Chef to join a welcoming pub located on a campsite in the heart of Cumbria. This is an ongoing position offering a strong hourly rate of £19 per hour, ideal for a confident and reliable chef who is comfortable running a kitchen independently. Onsite accommodation is available, making this a great option for those looking to live and work in a scenic rural setting in the Lake District.
The site is a well-loved spot for dog walkers, campers, and tourists, creating a steady and consistent flow of customers. The menu focuses on classic pub favourites and hearty, crowd-pleasing dishes, so a solid all-rounder with good organisation and time management skills is essential.
The Role:
- Running the kitchen solo during service
- Preparing and cooking a simple, traditional pub menu
- Managing stock, prep, and maintaining kitchen standards
- Ensuring cleanliness, food safety, and consistency at all times
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working as a single-handed chef or in a similar independent role
- Ability to stay organised and efficient during busy service periods
- A calm, reliable, and self-sufficient approach
- Level 2 Food Hygiene (minimum)
