Chefs Jobs UK are recruiting for an experienced and ambitious Senior Sous Chef to join the kitchen brigade at a well-established country house hotel and events venue near Preston.
This is an excellent opportunity to take on a key leadership role within a professional kitchen that delivers high-quality food across weddings, private events, corporate functions, and leisure dining. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a vital role in maintaining standards, developing the team, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
The Role
As Senior Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team while helping to deliver exceptional food and service across all areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day management of the kitchen
- Leading the team during service and ensuring consistently high standards
- Preparing and presenting dishes to a high standard
- Training, mentoring, and developing junior chefs
- Assisting with stock control, ordering, and GP management
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Supporting menu development and seasonal food offerings
- Ensuring smooth delivery of restaurant, wedding, and event catering operations
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Experience within hotel, banqueting, wedding, or high-volume hospitality environments
- Passion for fresh food and quality ingredients
- Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure
- Excellent communication and team management skills
- A proactive approach and desire to contribute to the success of the kitchen
